I have come away from the Shift Time festival in a reflective mood. The debates in the igloo and the amazingly articulate and clever people throwing back argument and comment was terrific. There was a twitter attempt that didn’t come off – should have prepared it better J said.
I agreed with ‘why not upgrade’ – the call from the renown professor of cybernetics Kevin Warwick. I could do with a little help to speed up my thought processes, a bit of extra ram for my memory and to get those text messages done a bit quicker. I have a feeling though that Pete Moore was accurate in saying I am very unlikely to get these upgrades (and would I be better off for it?). So I will have to keep ’sleeping on it’, keep writing lists (but must stop loosing them) and keep practicing hitting the tight mobile phone buttons (finding my glasses a bit quicker would help). Can you find the hash key and input #shifttime in less than a minute? I know you probably can but you see my problems! If you haven’t got a clue why I want to write #shifttime, neither would I three weeks ago – but that is twitter for you!
I was trying to get a text message out to #shifttime twitter after Sam Roberts had finished his argument. He argued that social networks didn’t increase your circle of close friends because the human capacity for maintaining friendship was limited. He had to admit his research has been overtaken by twitter. My text message was… #shifttime its official – its OK to twitter. How long? (1m 30secs) make me 16 again or I want one of professor Warricks upgrades – think hash the mobile phone gives me hash. I sent it - J on his laptop smiled – thats twitter for you!
Wren and Rays remembrance path called for different thought processes. Reflection- thoughts of a lost one – finding a connection.

And I made my own rembrance walk around the laberynth…
Feng Ru Lee was still grazing and people still flocking around Umerus. Then there was Charles Darwin and his Dodo.
